The Helford River, or estuary as someone recently corrected me on in one of our YouTube videos is one of the most breath-taking rivers we've stopped in so far. There are a few places which you can anchor in and the holding was good in both of the spots we stayed in.

The first was further up the river, just past the last of the moorings and just before the 'oyster farm' which is located in most pilot books.  From here it's quite a dingy ride to get to somewhere to land in order to get to any kind of shops, but we found ourselves heading to the Helford River sailing club and using their pontoons and in return we dropped some coins into their honesty box. 

You have a couple of lovely pubs on either side of the river and once again some of the most idyllic walks to be found along the south coast.
