The Beaulieu River is another incredible spot to go and visit. It's understandably a very popular place for boaters yet for some reason this incredibly popular destination manages to retain a feeling of tranquility.
There are signs everywhere regarding the ongoing nature conservation work that's taking place right next to the allocated anchoring area which is between piles 20 and 22 which will be to your port side, as you enter the river.
The holding here is mud and our anchor bit right in first time and we didn't budge an inch all night.
From here we took our dingy up the river to the historic village of 'Bucklers Hard' where you'll find stunning walks, pubs, a museum and more. This is where Nelsons ships were built and launched, which seems incredibly hard to believe when you see how quaint the areas feels, but this tranquil destination was once upon a time a real power house in British navel engineering.
