Anstey's Cove - Devon

Anchoring Cost - FREE

Anstey's Cove in Torbay, Devon is found along the English Riviera and is a truly magical spot. We anchored about 100 meters off of the beautiful sandy beach, the hook bedding into sand and settled down ahead of some gale force south westerly winds which were forecast. Due to the high cliffs which are covered in trees, this anchorage gave us possibly the best protection in high winds that we've ever experienced in our five years of anchoring our around the UK.

Anstey's cove is special for so many reasons, it's a haven for outdoor activity, from coasteering to rock climbing, to paddle-boarding or yoga on the beach, there's something for everyone. We enjoyed beautiful coastal walks too, with a great hike taking you from the beach over to a local hot spot and a great pub in the 'Cary Arms'.

There's also a cafe in this cove which opens at 9am and if you're in need of topping up your water tanks then there is a tap in the toilet block behind the cafe.
